Miracle: HIV-AIDS Patient is Cured

AIDS-HIVAn American man diagnosed with HIV-AIDS was reportedly cured 20 months after he was given a bone marrow transplant, his doctors said. Hope is indeed alive especially for the 33 million people worldwide who are infected with the deadly virus.

Check the amazing story below.

German hematologist, Dr. Gero Huetter of Berlin's Charite Medical University, said his 42-year-old American patient living in Berlin was diagnosed with HIV-AIDS and leukemia for more than 10 years.

After the patient underwent a transplant of genetically selected bone marrow, the researchers at Berlin's Charite hospital and medical school stated that several tests on his bone marrow, blood and other organs no longer show any signs of the virus.

ABC News reported, "This isn't the first time marrow transplants have been attempted for treating AIDS or HIV infection. In 1999, an article in the journal Medical Hypotheses reviewed the results of 32 attempts reported between 1982 and 1996. In two cases, HIV was apparently eradicated, the review reported."
